Editor's Letter
SEPTEMBER 2010
September is known
for the largest fashion spread for American
Vogue, but for Exclusively Fashion Magazine,
it's all about interviews.
This month will be about giving you more
interviews for September 2010 (thirteen to be
exact).
I t has been a while since I have written an
Editor’s Letter.
There were so many things popping up left
and right.
The original plan was to take a break from
interviewing for the rest of the year, but I
somehow found it to be more difficult than I
expected it to be.
I'm glad that I kept going.
It has been three months since I've written the
editor’s letter and it has been a lot of
hustling.
I cannot stress the word hustle enough.
Before I began to tell you about the last
three months, I would like to thank all of EFM
readers, and especially my interviewees.
Without you there would not be
Exclusively Fashion Magazine, really.
Thank you dearly for being a part and
believing in EFM, and for allowing the aspiring
into a glimpse of your world.
And to EFM readers, thank you for making
EFM your daily read.
We hope that you gained much knowledge
and will power to become a great success in the
fashion industry.
For the past three months I have been running
around like a chicken without a head.
I usually have three interviews per
month; making connections for June, July, and
September 2010, but now it has increased to
seven interviews per month.
Not realizing how much work goes into
every interview and images, etc., I allowed
myself to become like a Tasmanian devil; zipping
through every talent
that is out there, making sure I get the
opportunity to tell their story; putting
pressure on myself to meet deadlines
(unrealistic) deadlines.
Forgetting that I'm only one person, it’s
sad to say, but I can't do 'everything', and
it's also hard to give up control.
I also found myself obsessed with doing
interviews. It became like an addiction, a habit
that you can't break away from.
September will have a mixture of interviews from
different sides of the fashion industry.
We have added a category 'Set Designer'.
You will enjoy our first interviewee, Jesse
Nemeth.
Enjoy the interviews.
Until then, stay strong, stay focused, stay
positive, and stay motivated!
