Exclusively Fashion Magazine:
Can you tell me about your background as a hair stylist
and makeup artist?
Armin Morbach:
I started my career at Vidal Sassoon in Munich and
decided then to travel a lot and work as a freelance
beauty editor for different Magazines. While staying in
New York I became acquainted
with Kevyn Aucoin and I also began to work with
make-up. I assisted him a long time until I got homesick
and went back to Germany.
EFM:
I know that you are the ambassador for Schwarzkopfâs
and expert. How did you obtain that opportunity?
AM:
I think Schwarzkopf as an innovative company knows
that the best way to develop new styles and ideas is to
work together with a specialist from the beauty
industry. It keeps them at the market and the consumers
keep a face in mind they know and they have trust in.
Schwarzkopf as a brand is a piece of German
„contemporary history“ and I always have been in contact
with them. Well and you don’t choose the company, they
choose you.
EFM:
I love the fashion spread that you collaborated with
Tush magazine. Can you tell me the concept behind model
Toni's hair?
AM:
Toni Garrn is a new Claudia Schiffer; that doesn't
mean she could replace her. But her natural beauty, her
whole look reminds me of Claudia in the early Nineties.
So I think the best thing to do is to assign this whiff
of Schiffer aura for Toni as well. Naturally sexy.
EFM:
What hair tips can you give to keep hair looking healthy
and shinny?
AM:
If you take a shower in the morning and put lotion
on your body afterwards – don’t wash your hands, just
knead the little lotion film in your hair. Don’t save
money when it comes to professional shampoo. After
blow-drying your hair with heat ,set your hairdryer on
cold air!
EFM:
What are the hair trends for Fall/Winter 2009?
AM:
The comeback of bubble-perm hairstyle! A mix between
70's Disco Glam and 90's perm.

EFM:
What are your predictions for spring/summer hair trends
2010?
AM:
Red hair is going to be huge!
EFM:
You seem to be a very stylish, well put together guy.
Can you describe your personal style?
AM:
There have been times when I really made a big thing
of my own styling. Today it’s not a big deal anymore. I
like wearing a basecap, a nice plain T – which is not
easy to find – my Tom Ford glasses, an easy pair of
Jeans. When there’s a big event I keep it classical, I’m
wearing my tuxedo then.
EFM:
Tell me something that we don't know about you?
AM:
Just got my driver’s license!
EFM:
What do you want to be known for?
AM:
For being a very good friend and for being
chameleonic talented, of course.
EFM:
What advice can you give to aspiring hair stylists and
makeup artists?
AM:
Never change your opinion. If you wanna grow because
of your ideas you have to keep your way of doing
something.
